About
Kar (They/Them) is an artist and designer with experience and focus on illustration, design, and fabrication. Competent with both traditional and digital mediums, their passion for science, art, and education blends heavily in their work. It has also created an interest in museums and exhibit design and paleoart/speculative biology.
Over the last decade, Kar has had experience in commercial graphic design and page layout, illustration, running social media, education, digital fabrication, and has done research work in research in user experience & accessibility and pop culture & fandom. More recently, they have been working and managing makerspaces in the Maker community.
In short, Kar likes diving into research, figuring how things work, getting hands-on and messy, and making things. While many of these things may not necessarily work or have any serious function, they are forever learning and growing from both failure– or just for the fun of it!
